Flashpoint validated and extended research into "process parameter poisoning," an EDR evasion technique that hides payloads in Windows process startup parameters to avoid common API-based process-injection detections. Their Rust proof-of-concept demonstrated bypasses against a popular open-source EDR/XDR stack, and when combined with DLL unhooking and DLL-loading policies the technique produced no alerts in testing. Flashpoint recommends defenders inspect process parameters, monitor for thread-hijacking and abnormal code execution locations, and watch for memory permission changes; researchers have not yet observed widespread in-the-wild use.
