GreyNoise Intelligence Releases New Research on Cybersecurity Vulns

GreyNoise released its 2025 Mass Internet Exploitation Report analyzing 2024 attacker trends and in-the-wild exploitation: attackers automated large-scale scanning and rapid exploitation (often within hours of disclosure), with significant activity targeting home routers (driving massive botnets), compromised Android devices (12,000+ in a May 2024 surge), and heavy exploitation of D-Link and Ivanti devices. The report notes 573 new tags for 394 CVEs (84 aligning with CISA's KEV), that 40% of exploited vulnerabilities predate 2020, and that ransomware groups used a notable portion of tracked KEV CVEs—leading GreyNoise to recommend real-time perimeter intelligence and prioritized patching.
