Google disclosed a high-severity Chrome zero-day (CVE-2024-4947), a type-confusion flaw in the V8 JavaScript engine that is being exploited in the wild; emergency updates (Chrome 125.0.6422.60/.61) were issued for desktop and Linux, and Chromium-based browsers such as Microsoft Edge are also affected. This is the third Chrome zero-day patched within a week, and the bug can cause crashes and, in some cases, allow code execution.
