Malawi Passport System Back Online After Debilitating Cyberattack

Malawi's e-passport issuance system was taken offline by an apparent ransomware attack that demanded a ransom; the government refused to pay and ordered an investigation. After nearly three weeks, local specialists restored the system and passport printing will resume starting in Lilongwe and then roll out to other regions.
