Hackers Can Crack Into Car Cameras in Minutes Flat

Researchers discovered vulnerabilities across 24+ dashcam models that enable attackers within Wi‑Fi range to retrieve video, audio, GPS, and device configuration and to automate large-scale compromise (termed "drivethru hacking"). The team demonstrated how extracted artifacts can be processed into sensitive insights, warned of potential pivoting to vehicle systems, has submitted CVEs, and will present the full findings at Black Hat Asia; no active exploitation in the wild has yet been observed.
