Bridging the Secure Access Gap in Third-Party, Unmanaged Devices

An ESG survey and Menlo Security analysis report a 140% increase in browser-based phishing in 2024—partly driven by attackers using AI—and identify common vectors such as brand impersonation, malicious ads, abuse of collaboration tools, and malicious browser extensions. The research finds many organizations consider enterprise browsers a valuable layer within SASE/ZTNA approaches to secure third-party and unmanaged device access to SaaS and internal apps, typically as an augmenting control rather than a wholesale replacement for existing security tools.
