Identity Governance and Administration, App Proliferation, and the App Integration Chasm

This commentary summarizes Omdia research on workforce identity security: enterprises face rapid SaaS and application proliferation (mean ~1,100 apps for surveyed organizations) while only about 54% of apps are adequately integrated with IGA. The gap stems from disconnected apps that lack SAML/OIDC/SCIM support, costly/custom connector needs, and constrained resources; vendors and systems integrators are responding with new onboarding, governance, and provisioning solutions to close the coverage chasm.
