Industrial Controllers Still Vulnerable As Conflicts Move to Cyber

Researchers and analysts warn that at least 179 Internet-facing Modbus/OT devices allow unauthenticated access, creating direct, easily exploitable routes into industrial control systems; the U.S. government has also warned that nation-state actors are targeting PLCs in critical sectors. The report highlights prior infrastructure compromises, limited OT visibility and monitoring, and urges organizations to scan, segment, and implement ICS-aware defenses to mitigate potentially serious physical consequences.
