Russia-Linked Hackers Attack Japan's Govt, Ports

Two pro‑Russian hacktivist groups, NoName057(16) and the Russian Cyber Army Team, launched coordinated DDoS attacks starting Oct. 14 against Japanese logistics, shipbuilding, manufacturing, government, and political domains. Netscout observed roughly 40 targeted domains, multiple attack waves per domain using four distinct DDoS vectors and ~30 configurations via the DDoSia botnet; the activity is tied to geopolitical tensions over Japan's military buildup and is under government investigation.
