OpenAI Bans ChatGPT Accounts Linked to Nation-State Threat Actors

OpenAI reported disrupting and banning dozens of ChatGPT accounts run by state-backed actors (notably from China, Russia, North Korea and others) that were using the model to assist malware development, social engineering, cyber espionage, deceptive recruitment, and influence operations; some activity was attributed to APT5 and APT15 and OpenAI said it used AI detection capabilities to identify and disrupt these abuses.
