CISO Stature Rises, but Security Budgets Remain Tight

Surveys from IANS and EY indicate that CISOs at large U.S. companies are receiving higher compensation and taking on broader responsibilities, yet face shrinking cybersecurity budgets and difficulty demonstrating value beyond risk mitigation. The reports recommend that CISOs integrate security into business-growth initiatives, simplify toolsets, pursue automation and AI, and engage earlier with executive decision-making to unlock enterprise value.
