DoJ Charges 3 Iranian Hackers in Political 'Hack & Leak' Campaign

The U.S. Department of Justice announced indictments charging three individuals tied to Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps with a multi-year, state-directed hack-and-leak operation that used spear-phishing and credential-capture to compromise political campaigns, current and former U.S. officials, NGOs, and media in an effort to influence the 2024 presidential election; charges include identity theft, unauthorized access, access device fraud, and wire fraud, and U.S. authorities offered up to $10 million for information leading to identification or location of involved actors.
