CISOs: Throwing Cash at Tools Isn't Helping Detect Breaches

A global survey of 234 CISOs highlights ongoing visibility gaps in hybrid cloud and encrypted data-in-motion, despite security spending projected to reach $215B by end of 2024; 44% reported missing a data breach in the past year. Key findings include strong priorities for deep observability (82%), packet-level/app metadata visibility (85%), and board-level budgeting for hybrid cloud (81%), while 84% seek better visibility into encrypted traffic and many are overwhelmed by tool sprawl; 60% plan to consolidate and optimize existing tools in 2025.
