Funding the Organizations That Secure the Internet

Common Good Cyber is a multi-stakeholder initiative seeking sustainable funding models to support under-resourced volunteers, nonprofits, and NGOs that maintain critical Internet infrastructure. A February workshop produced four action items — creation of joint pooled funds, federated fundraising among nonprofits, collection of sector-wide data to build a business case, and a hub/accelerator to provide resources — and set plans to publish a report, present at RSA, and hold a European workshop with the goal of implementing solutions within about a year.
