GorillaBot Goes Ape With 300K Cyberattacks Worldwide

GorillaBot, a Mirai-derived botnet supporting multiple architectures, conducted a surge of multivector DDoS attacks (around 300,000 incidents between Sept. 4–27) against roughly 20,000 organizations across 113 countries, using 19 attack methods (notably UDP floods and TCP SYN/ACK floods) orchestrated via five C2 servers and peaking at 20,000 attack commands in a day; the report also contextualizes rising bad-bot traffic and discusses mitigation techniques for volumetric and stateful TCP floods.
