Verizon Employee Data Exposed in Insider Threat Incident

About 63,000 Verizon employees were affected by an inadvertent insider data exposure that occurred in September 2023 and was discovered in December 2023; exposed fields included names, addresses, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, gender, union affiliations, and compensation. Verizon reports no evidence the data were shared externally or misused and is notifying affected employees while reviewing technical controls and access practices.
