'VoltSchemer' Hack Allows Wireless Charger Takeovers

Researchers from the University of Florida and CertiK disclosed a theoretical attack named "VoltSchemer" that uses power-supply voltage manipulation and electromagnetic interference to modulate Qi wireless charging signals, enabling a threat actor to take over chargers, damage devices, bypass Qi protections, and potentially manipulate voice assistants; nine commercial wireless chargers were tested and found vulnerable, though no active exploitation in the wild is reported.
