Microsoft Readies Administrator Protection Option for Windows 11

Microsoft is introducing "Administrator Protection" for Windows 11 to replace User Account Control (UAC). The feature keeps users running as standard accounts and, when elevated rights are required, issues a time-limited admin token from a separate, isolated administrator account after Windows Hello authentication; the token is discarded after the task. Microsoft plans a preview now and to enable it by default by year-end, aiming to reduce credential-based breaches though requiring policy adjustments from IT teams.
