The New CISO: Rethinking the Role

This article argues that the CISO role has shifted from a technical gatekeeper to a business-facing, resilience-focused leader; it warns that blending security with operations can dilute protection and increase legal/regulatory exposure, and recommends CISOs improve board communication, adopt risk-based and resiliency-focused approaches, emphasize technical fundamentals and automation, and rigorously document and test incident response plans.
