How Outer Space Became the Next Big Attack Surface

Vision Space presented research at Black Hat USA 2025 revealing ~30 vulnerabilities in ground infrastructure and on-board flight frameworks (including popular NASA open-source software) that, when chained, could allow attackers to send arbitrary spacecraft commands, take over control centers, alter orbits, compromise telemetry, or achieve on-board remote code execution; researchers practiced responsible disclosure and reported most issues were fixed.
