FCC to Provide $200 Million to Schools and Libraries Cybersecurity

The report outlines the FCC CyberPilot program, a three-year, $200M initiative to bolster cybersecurity in schools and libraries by defining eligibility (K-12, various library types, and consortia), application preparations pending OMB form approval, funding formulas and caps (e.g., $13.60 per student, minimums, and maximums), reimbursement and cost-share requirements, prioritization for under-resourced applicants, and eligible expenditures such as next-generation firewalls, DDoS protection, firewall-as-a-service, IPS, IoT security, antispam/antivirus, EDR, DNS-layer filtering, email and web security, and limited training.
