FBI, Dutch Police Disrupt ‘Manipulaters’ Phishing Gang

The FBI and Dutch authorities seized dozens of servers and domains used by the cybercrime operation "The Manipulaters" (brands include Heartsender, Fudpage, Fudtools), a service that sold phishing kits, spam delivery and email-extraction tools to organized crime groups for business email compromise. Seized systems reportedly contained millions of victim records (including ~100,000 Dutch citizens) and evidence that operator machines were infected with password-stealing malware; the takedown is part of a multi-country law enforcement effort and the investigation into makers and buyers is ongoing.
