Defining GDAP 

This report explains Microsoft’s shift from DAP to GDAP, highlighting how fine-grained, time-bound permissions enable least privilege and Zero Trust, strengthen security and compliance, and streamline operations and onboarding/offboarding. It outlines the 2023 transition process (automatic GDAP relationship creation with default roles, role assignment to CSP security groups, and removal of DAP) and encourages adoption of stricter access controls.
