A ransomware attack on October 23, 2023 targeting TransForm Shared Service Organization led to a major data breach affecting five southwestern Ontario hospitals (Bluewater Health, Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Erie Shores HealthCare, Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare, Windsor Regional Hospital) and the Tilbury District Family Health Team; patient and staff data stored on shared drives were reported stolen, though TDFHT says its electronic medical record was not compromised.
