Update to the Tic Hosting Solutions data incident

DataBreaches reported on TorchByte’s response to an incident where a misconfigured PHP server exposed credentials for a beta VPS management platform, allowing attackers to copy a database containing about 45 email addresses and usernames. TorchByte states the issue was remediated, firewall protections prevented further node access, authorities were notified, and repeated follow-on attempts failed. The company also clarified that a coincidental UPS failure caused service disruption unrelated to the attackers, with partial data recovery achieved and customer services extended.
