Nova Scotia Power Data Breach Exposed Information of 280,000 Customers

Nova Scotia Power disclosed a ransomware incident discovered April 25, 2025, involving unauthorized access and acquisition of customer data between March 19 and April 25, 2025. The company identified roughly 280,000 impacted customers (including 377 Maine residents), noted that sensitive information such as names, contact details, account and billing history, dates of birth, driver’s license numbers, Canadian Social Insurance Numbers, and some bank account numbers may have been exposed, and is offering two years of credit monitoring to affected individuals.
