Alberta, Centurion Project sued over alleged data breach that affected millions of voters

A retired lawyer filed a class-action lawsuit alleging that the Centurion Project unlawfully accessed and distributed Alberta’s list of electors, in an incident reported to affect about 2.9 million residents. The suit claims that sensitive personal information was exposed — potentially harming vulnerable groups — and also accuses the provincial government and Elections Alberta of failing to implement adequate protections and auditing controls.
