Quantum Radiology cyber attack: Patients kept in the dark about nature of attack while employees are being harassed by attackers

Quantum Radiology, operating 10 clinics in Sydney, suffered a cyberattack on November 22 in which an unauthorised actor breached and encrypted the provider's IT systems and obtained patients' Medicare numbers, identifying information, claim details, image scans and reports; internal guidance reportedly instructed staff to describe the event as an "operational IT issue" rather than a ransomware attack.
