Two men, believed to part of Scattered Spiders, plead guilty over £39m TfL cyber attack

Two members of the criminal hacking group Scattered Spider pleaded guilty to conspiring to commit unauthorized acts against Transport for London after a cyber attack that began on 31 August 2024, causing three months of disruption, an estimated £39 million in costs, and affecting roughly 10 million customers; one defendant also admitted attempted intrusions against U.S. healthcare organizations, and both are linked to additional alleged attacks on Marks & Spencer, Harrods, and the Co-op Group.
