Methodist Homes of Alabama and Northwest Florida is notifying residents and employees of its second data breach in seven months.

Methodist Homes of Alabama and Northwest Florida disclosed that an employee email account was compromised between May 8–21, 2025, exposing residents’ and non-residents’ personal and health information (names, SSNs, DOBs, Medicare and medical details, health insurance data, and some online log-in information), with the total affected not yet disclosed. This is the organization’s second breach in less than a year; a prior incident in October 2024 involved unauthorized network access, initially reported to HHS as affecting 908 patients but later reported to the Maine AG as impacting 25,579 individuals.
