Maryville Addiction Treatment Center disclosed a cybersecurity incident involving unauthorized access to one corporate email account on or around August 22, 2023, potentially exposing PHI and PII (including SSNs, treatment and insurance details, DOBs, financial account data, and government IDs) across centers in Williamstown, Turnersville, Pemberton, Vineland, and Franklinville. The organization began notifying affected individuals on February 20, 2024 and is offering credit monitoring, while observers criticize the delayed discovery and the framing of notifications as merely “out of an abundance of caution.”
