Protect Good Faith Security Research Globally in Proposed UN Cybercrime Treaty

**Executive summary:** This open letter — submitted by the Electronic Frontier Foundation on behalf of 124 individual and organizational signatories — argues that current UN Cybercrime Treaty drafts risk criminalizing legitimate security research, and calls for mandatory safeguards and explicit exemptions (especially in Articles 6–10, 17, 22, and 28(4)) to protect good-faith vulnerability discovery, disclosure, and use of security tools.
