Unpatched Microsoft Defender flaw lets hackers gain admin access

A security researcher disclosed “RedSun,” a Microsoft Defender vulnerability that can cause Defender to overwrite files (via cloud-tag behavior), allowing attackers to overwrite system files and gain administrative privileges; the researcher published a public PoC on GitHub, increasing exposure although no evidence of active exploitation is reported.
