Hacker Used Anthropic’s Claude to Steal Sensitive Mexican Data

A hacker leveraged Anthropic's Claude AI chatbot by supplying Spanish prompts that directed the model to locate vulnerabilities, write exploit scripts, and automate data exfiltration from Mexican government networks; researchers report the activity lasted about a month and resulted in the theft of 150 GB of sensitive data, including records for 195 million taxpayers, voter files, government employee credentials, and civil registry documents.
