Askul says 740,000 sets of data breached in cyberattack

Japanese office supplies retailer Askul disclosed a ransomware attack discovered in October that led to the exposure of about 740,000 data sets tied to corporate clients, individual customers (via Lohaco), and employees; the company says no individual customers’ credit card data leakage is confirmed and it has not paid a ransom. The Ransomhouse group listed Askul on its leak site on October 30 and subsequently published evidence packs in November and December, indicating ongoing extortion and data exposure activity.
