COVID Test Data Breach: 1.3 Million Patient Records Exposed Online

Researcher Jeremiah Fowler discovered a publicly exposed, non-password-protected database tied to CoronaLab/Microbe & Lab that contained roughly 1.3 million COVID-19 test records and sensitive personally identifiable information (names, dates of birth, passport numbers, emails, QR codes and related CSV files); the exposure lasted about three weeks before the cloud provider closed public access following disclosure.
