Hackers steal medical details of 15 million in France

France's health ministry and reporting indicate that Cegedim Santé's software was breached in late 2025, exposing administrative data and medical notes for more than 15 million people across roughly 1,500 medical practices; 169,000 patients had doctors' notes that may contain sensitive information. The attack was claimed by an unnamed group, Cegedim filed a criminal complaint in October 2025, and the company had been fined €800,000 in 2024 for prior unauthorized processing of health data.
