UMMC continues investigating cyberattack and recovering from impact.

In February the University of Mississippi Medical Center experienced a cyberattack that disrupted multiple IT systems and cut access to its Epic EMR, causing a nine-day suspension of many outpatient services; reporting from SuspectFile and a Medusa spokesperson claims the Medusa ransomware gang exfiltrated over 1 TB and more than 1 million files (including patient PHI and employee/student PII), posted proof on a leak site in March, and that ransom negotiations (Medusa $800k, UMMC $550k) failed, though UMMC has not confirmed the full scope.
