U.S. Army Intelligence Analyst Pleads Guilty to Charges of Conspiracy to Obtain and Disclose National Defense Information, Export Control Violations and Bribery

The Department of Justice announced that U.S. Army intelligence analyst Korbein Schultz pleaded guilty to conspiring to obtain and transmit national defense information and export-controlled technical data to a Hong Kong-based contact he suspected had ties to China, receiving about $42,000 for dozens of sensitive documents on U.S. weapons systems, tactics, and operations; sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 23, 2025, with maximum penalties totaling up to 65 years, following an FBI and Army Counterintelligence investigation.
