Seoul Notifies 4.62 Million of Ttareungyi Data Breach, Offers Free Passes

Seoul will notify about 4.62 million citizens of a data breach affecting the Ttareungyi public bike-sharing service; leaked items may include user IDs, phone numbers, dates of birth, gender, weight, emails, postal codes, addresses, and guardians' contact details. The Seoul Facilities Corporation, after consulting law enforcement and the privacy commission, finalized per-person leaked items and will send texts describing the leaked data, breach circumstances, prevention guidance, and offering compensation such as 30-day passes.
