Millions of California-bought cars can be hijacked via Bluetooth

Researchers at UC San Diego found that Acrisure's dealer-installed KARR and SWDS Bluetooth security systems reuse a single secure key across devices, enabling an attacker within about five yards who knows the key to unlock doors, trigger the horn or lights, or prevent a vehicle from starting; approximately 2.2 million vehicles are potentially affected.
