Westend Dental agrees to pay Indiana $350K and to implement corrective action plan to settle charges of multiple HIPAA violations

In October 2020 Westend Dental was hit by Medusa Locker ransomware that encrypted patient files and exposed protected health information; the practice allegedly failed to investigate or timely report the breach, prompting an Indiana Attorney General lawsuit and a proposed $350,000 settlement and corrective actions.
