A hacker has allegedly breached one of China’s supercomputers and is attempting to sell a trove of stolen data

A hacker claims to have stolen more than 10 petabytes of sensitive data from the National Supercomputing Center (NSCC) in Tianjin, affecting infrastructure used by some 6,000 clients across science, defense, and other sectors; the haul reportedly includes highly classified defense documents and missile schematics. Cyber experts who reviewed samples posted by the alleged attacker said the breach appeared convincing and that the intruder may have exfiltrated large volumes of data over months without detection.
