Phishing texts trick Apple iMessage users into disabling protection

Threat actors are conducting smishing against iMessage users by asking them to reply or add the sender to contacts, which turns Apple’s protective link-disabling back on—thereby exposing users to phishing links. Apple confirms this behavior, advising users not to respond to messages with disabled links or from unknown senders.
