Fulton County, Security Experts Call LockBit’s Bluff

LockBit claimed it would publish Fulton County, Georgia internal documents unless a ransom was paid; the listing was removed with LockBit asserting payment but county officials denying any payment. Shortly after, the FBI and the U.K. National Crime Agency seized LockBit’s online infrastructure and replaced the group’s site with a seizure notice and links to decryption tools, a move that law enforcement and security experts say likely disrupted the gang and reduced the risk of data publication.
