New Jersey law enforcement officers sue 118 data brokers for not removing personal info

Over the past week, 118 class-action lawsuits were filed against data brokers accused of ignoring takedown requests from about 20,000 New Jersey law enforcement personnel to remove personal data; state law prohibits publishing home addresses and unpublished phone numbers of current and retired officers, prosecutors, judges, and their families, requiring removal within 10 days and imposing $1,000 fines per violation.
