Two Coalfire Labs employees, Gary DeMercurio and Justin Wynn, were arrested in September 2019 while performing a contracted security assessment of the Dallas County Courthouse in Iowa. After charges were reduced and prolonged legal disputes, the county agreed to a $600,000 settlement in January 2024 to compensate the men for arrest, stress, and reputational harm resulting from the incident.
