Parathon by JDA e-Health: what we still don’t know about their July ransomware incident

Parathon (a HIPAA business associate) detected a ransomware attack on July 27, 2023 that was listed on the Akira leak site and may have exposed patient names, addresses, dates of birth, and protected health information. Parathon has sent some notification letters and offered credit monitoring, but has not disclosed the total number of affected patients, whether HHS was notified, or whether a ransom was paid; the Akira listing was later removed and inquiries remain unanswered.
