Urban VPN Proxy Surreptitiously Intercepts AI Chats

Urban VPN Proxy browser extension was reported to intercept and collect conversations from ten major AI platforms (including ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, Perplexity, Grok, and Meta AI), recording every prompt and response, conversation identifiers, timestamps, session metadata, and the specific model used. The data collection is enabled by default via hardcoded configuration flags, operates continuously in the background regardless of VPN connection, offers no user-facing opt-out, and requires uninstalling the extension to stop the harvesting.
