Stimmen aus Moskau: Russian Influence Operations Target German Elections

Insikt Group assesses that Russia-linked influence operations are actively targeting the 2025 German federal elections using media impersonation, dozens of newly created inauthentic websites and social accounts, AI-enabled deepfakes, and coordinated inauthentic behavior to exacerbate political divisions, promote parties favorable to Russian interests (notably AfD), and undermine trust in institutions; while these operations remain persistent and evolving, current evidence suggests they have not meaningfully altered voter behavior but still pose material risks to media integrity and public trust.
